Hunan Metals & Chemicals Corp. grew out of Hunan Provincial Imp. & Exp. Corp. As a large state-owned enterprise. It was founded under the approval of the Ministry of Foreign Trade & Economic Cooperation of China and the People's Government of Hunan Province, P. R. CHINA in the end of 1984.

Hunan Metals & Chemicals Corp. Has the operation right of import & export, barter trade and overseas economic and technical cooperation. Besides import and export, it also undertakes joint-ventures, cooperative production, processing business with clients materials, accessories & samples, barter trade and international project & labour service. At the same time, it invests in futures, real estate, travel service, commerce and transportation.

Boasts of more than 60 branches and industrial entities of chemicals and metals, light industry, garments, arts & crafts, etc. With total assets of RMB 2.5 billion Yuan and more than 3000 staff and workers, it retains an annual import and export amount of over USD 200 million.
